So I’ve found a new favorite mascara, and the best part is that it’s from the drugstore. I was using MAC Opulash for the last season and was content, but this is half the price and much more impressive. CoverGirl’s latest offering in their LashBlast line, Clump Crusher, claims that you can apply up to 30 strokes without clumping. I don’t know if I’d say this is the most natural-looking mascara, but the nice part is that it’s versatile: one coat works for a daytime look, and adding more will amp up your eyes for going out. The pictures above are three coats (so maybe 15 swipes?) and you can see how dramatically long and thick my lashes are—if you look closely at the first picture, you can see a couple of lashes I missed on the right and compare them to the rest.

Counter-clockwise, this is one coat, two coats, and three coats. Clump Crusher does pretty well at holding a curl. It has a curved brush with rubber bristles, like the rest of the LashBlast mascaras, but not as large as the volume one (the orange tube). The best way to use this is to continuously apply to the level you want, without letting the mascara dry between coats. It’s water-resistant, and so far I’ve had no problems with smudging; it is, however, a little difficult to get off without waterproof makeup remover.

Clump Crusher should be available wherever CoverGirl is (drugstores, Target, Bed, Bath, and Beyond), but it might be sold out in-store for a few weeks. Drugstore.com has it for $6.99, though! It comes in Brown, Black Brown, Black, and Very Black.
